I hope my message finds you well and that everyone in your home is keeping safe. I know this is a difficult time for all of us and I want you to know I am thinking about everyone.
I have now decided to update you regularly via email, as opposed to my blog, as I think it will be far more effective in reaching out to everyone.
There are 4 key updates I wish to tell you about in this email and they are: Your Pay, Employee Self Service (ESS), my current thinking of what may happen in the future and staying in touch.
Your Pay
As you know we are in the process of applying for you to be furloughed into the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) and I want to assure you everyone will be paid in April in accordance to the CJRS.
Employee Self Service (ESS)
We are introducing employee self service, which amongst other things will mean that from April your pay slip will be sent to your email address and from here on in, that will always be the case. We will no longer send you your pay slip via your Chef Manager at your school, it will always be sent directly to your own personal email address each month.
Nelson’s Current Thinking
I think schools may start to re-open as early as June, but it will only be partial openings whereby not all the children/students come back to school at the same time. In that scenario, we are now planning what that may look like and how it will affect all of us. The questions we are asking include what the menu will be, how many children/students will we serve, how will we manage social distancing and what does that mean for those of us who may have children still at home.
As you will appreciate it is very changeable in regard to Government thinking around the Coronavirus but Pablum is a very agile company, employing some great people and I am sure we can stand up to the challenge when asked to do so.
