Special Diets
Pabulum recognise that there are an increasing number of children who require a medically prescribed diet. This could be due to a variety of reasons such as a food allergy, a food intolerance, diabetes or other medical conditions.
Primary Schools
Our primary school menus do not use any ingredients which intentionally contain tree nuts or peanuts.
All our primary school menus provided on this website contain information regarding the presence of the 14 allergens covered in the Food Information Regulations 2014, including eggs, milk, gluten and soya. Please click here and then search your school to find this information.
Medically prescribed diet menus can be created for primary school children who have dietary requirements which have been prescribed by a medical practitioner such as a GP or Dietician.
We are also able to provide a breakdown of nutritional information if required. Examples of this are carbohydrate counts for pupils with Type 1 diabetes or fat content of meals for children who take PERT (Pancreatic Enzyme Replacement Therapy) medication.
If your child requires a medically prescribed diet, please complete Pabulum’s Medically Prescribed Diet Request Form Medical Diet Request Form (V2). and email a copy to specialdiets@pabulum-catering.co.uk.
Our Nutritionist will then create a medically prescribed diet menu to meet your child’s dietary requirements and will send this to you within 10 working days.
Secondary Schools
Our secondary school breakfast, break and lunch menus do not use any ingredients which intentionally contain tree nuts or peanuts.
Our I love Coffee offer for sixth form occasionally sells products which may contain nuts. These will always be labelled.
In secondary schools, information regarding the presence of the 14 allergens is available at all points of service. All our catering staff are knowledgeable about the presence of allergens in our food and we encourage communication between students and our catering staff.
We are also able to provide a breakdown of nutritional information if required. Examples of this are carbohydrate counts for pupils with Type 1 diabetes or fat content of meals for students who take PERT medication.
If you require any further information about what we can offer for students who require medically prescribed diets, please email: specialdiets@pabulum-catering.co.uk.
